Summer School 2010

The Five Acres Therapeutic School provides a uniquely calm, nurturing and highly academic environment. Our veteran and well trained team of education specialists has unique expertise working with children who have a variety of behavioral, emotional, psychiatric and educational challenges. Our program offers highly individualized instruction and our course of study is aligned with California Standards in all core academic areas.

The Five Acres Therapeutic School was founded in 1981 as a Non-Public School (NPS) program. We offer highly specialized instruction to students grades K-9 eligible for Special Education Services in the areas of:

Emotional Disturbance
Learning Disabilities
Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder
Mild Mental Retardation
High-Functioning Autism Spectrum Disorders

Five Acres Therapeutic School offers a uniquely calm, nurturing and highly academic environment, including:

Small class sizes (8-12 students per class)
Staff to student ratio is 1:4
A central 5-acre playground
A built-in swimming pool
A 6000 volume central library
A 9000 volume Reading Renaissance library in our individual classrooms
All classrooms have networked computer stations with filtered internet access for educational study and research.

2010 Summer Program

Our summer program runs for 10 weeks from 6/21/10 through 8/30/10.
Limited availability—only 72 students will be accepted into our program this summer.
Parents may purchase the entire 10-week course, or blocks of 2 weeks broken up into 5 sessions. Classes are Monday through Friday.

Option 1:
Summer School Only—8am-12:30pm (M-F)
Any two week session : $576
All 10 weeks: $2000

Option 2:
Before school recreation program—7-8 a.m. M-F
Summer school—8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. M-F
Lunch and after school recreation program—12:30-6 p.m. M-F
Any two week session: $619
All 10 weeks: $3,000

Option 3:
A.M. Driving* pick-up at home—6 –7a.m. M-F
Before school breakfast and recreation program—7-8 a.m. M-F
Summer school—8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. M-F
Lunch and after school recreation program—12:30-6 p.m. M-F
P.M. Driving* to home—6-7 p.m. M-F
Any two week session: $699
All 10 weeks: $3,400

*Driving available only within 10 miles of Five Acres
