Auction Rules and Policy PDF Print E-mail

The following system will be used to manage the Live and Silent Auction bidding and invoicing.  The procedures differ from what you may have experienced during previous auctions - please read the description below.
  • ·    All bidding for the Silent Auction will begin at 6:00 p.m. and conclude at 7:30 p.m.
  • ·    All bidding for the Live Auction will begin at approximately 8:00 p.m. and conclude at 8:30 p.m.
  • ·    Absentee bidding will be allowed for the Silent Auction.  An absentee bidding form can be found  on-line one week before the event.  The Absentee Bidding Form must be returned to Five Acres no later than 12:00 noon PT on Friday, June 23, 2006
  • ·    Persons bidding must include their name, table number, telephone number and bid amount on the bid sheet.  Incorrect bid raises will be changed by the Auction Officials.  Bids will be honored only if incremental bidding is in accordance with the minimum increases.  Bids below the opening minimum bids will be changed to the proper increase
  • ·    A bidder wishing to place a bid that exceeds the highest one printed on the bid sheet should request a new bid sheet from an auction official
  • ·    For the Live Auction, when the Auctioneer verbalizes “SOLD” for a Live Auction item, title for that item will pass to the highest bidder
  • ·    Acceptance of a winning bid for a Silent or Live Auction item by the Auction Committee and the Auctioneer will constitute a legally binding contract between Five Acres and the winning bidder
  • ·    The Auction Committee and the Auctioneer reserve the right to reject any and all bids and to remove any items from the Silent and Live Auctions prior to sale
  • ·    Invoices will be prepared shortly after the closing of the Silent Auction.  Winners will be notified at their tables during the evening, following the Live Auction
  • ·    Items purchased must be removed the evening of the event
  • ·    While every effort has been made to describe each item correctly, all items and services are sold “as is”
  • ·    All auction items and services must be used within the time limits specifically stated in the catalog and are subject to the terms and conditions stipulated by the donors.  Please note that all accommodations are subject to availability.  Exact dates and detailed conditions of stays in hotels must be arranged in advance by the purchaser with the donor, keeping in mind that all black-out periods stated in the catalog and on certificates will apply.  All noted restrictions and expiration dates apply
  • ·    Unless otherwise stated, restaurant certificates do not include tax, gratuity or alcoholic beverages
  • ·    By his or her purchase, the buyer waives any claims for liabilities against Five Acres or the donor of the respective item or service.  Neither Five Acres nor the donor is responsible for any personal injury or damage to property that may result from the use of the item or service sold
  • ·    ALL SALES ARE FINAL.  Exchanges, extensions, refunds or substitutions from donors are not permitted.  Items are not redeemable for cash
