Furniture and Household Goods PDF Print E-mail

Depending on current needs we accept donations of new or gently used furniture and household items to support our community- and home-based programs including our emancipation program for youth aging out of foster care. Five Acres does not have a repair staff, and the individuals receiving these donations do not have the financial means to make repairs, so we ask that you please limit your donations to working items in very good usable condition.

Examples of accepted items include:
  • Living room furniture
  • Bedroom sets - dressers, bed frames (no mattresses)
  • Dining tables and chairs
  • Computer desks and chairs
  • Chests, mirrors, bookcases, sofas and coffee or end tables

How your donation helps:
Many in-kind furniture items assit youth leaving foster care who are attending college or vocational programs, foster families, survivors of domestic violence and others at-risk or in-need with very limited financial resources.

PLEASE NOTE: Individuals receiving these donations do not have the financial resources to make repairs. Due to health regulations, as well as the high cost of fuel, rent and labor, the agency must be selective in what we accept. Pick up depends on availability of employee drivers.
